Affiliate Disclosure & How We Make Money

Last updated: 9 October 2026 | Travel Europe Guide | Based in Liverpool, UK

Short version: We earn commission when you book hotels, flights, tours, eSIMs and insurance via our links. It costs you nothing extra. We pay for our own trips from Liverpool and only recommend what we test. If you buy via our link, you fund our guides. Thank you.

1. Who We Are

Travel Europe Guide (traveleuropeguide.com) is an independent travel guide written and tested from Liverpool, UK. We are not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking platform. We are a travel blog that creates practical guides for UK and European travellers.

Contact: info@traveleuropeguide.com | Based: Liverpool, England

2. What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing means when you click a link to Booking.com, Aviasales, GetYourGuide, Viator, Omio, Trainline, FlixBus, Airalo, SafetyWing or other partners and make a booking, we earn a small commission. This is at no extra cost to you – you pay the same price as going directly to Booking.com or GetYourGuide.

For example: If you book Hotel Artemide in Rome for £89 via our link /go/booking-artemide, Booking.com pays us around 25-40% of their commission (roughly £8-12). You still pay £89.

3. Which Affiliate Programs We Use

We are part of the following affiliate programs:

  • Hotels: Booking.com, Agoda, Hostelworld via Travelpayouts & Booking.com Affiliate Partner Program
  • Flights: Aviasales, WayAway via Travelpayouts (including Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, British Airways, etc.)
  • Tours & Activities: GetYourGuide, Viator (TripAdvisor), Tiqets via Travelpayouts & Awin
  • Trains & Buses: Omio, Trainline, FlixBus via Awin & Travelpayouts
  • eSIM: Airalo via Travelpayouts & Awin
  • Travel Insurance: SafetyWing via Travelpayouts
  • Other: Rentalcars.com, Klook (occasionally)

We may add new partners – we will update this page.

4. White-Label Search – What Does That Mean?

Our pages /hotels/ and /flights/ are white-label search engines powered by Booking.com and Aviasales/WayAway APIs via Travelpayouts.

This means:

  • Search results come directly from Booking.com and Aviasales
  • Prices are live and identical to Booking.com / Skyscanner
  • Booking and payment happens on Booking.com / airline site, not on our server
  • We do not store your card details
  • We earn commission when you book – this funds our independent guides

5. How We Choose What to Recommend – Our Editorial Policy

We pay for our own trips. All hotels, tours, trains and flights featured were paid for by us from Liverpool unless stated as press trip (we will clearly mark if press trip).

Our criteria:

  • Location (is it walkable to centre?)
  • Value (is it worth the £ price?)
  • Cleanliness and safety (especially for solo travellers)
  • Free cancellation where possible
  • Real skip-the-line (not marketing)

We do not accept payment to rank a hotel or tour higher. Affiliate commission does not affect ranking. For example, Hotel Artemide is #1 because of location near Termini and rooftop, not because it pays more.

We test from Liverpool – we check real flight prices from LPL, real train connections via St Pancras, and real transfer times. London-based sites often ignore Liverpool – we don’t.

6. UK & EU Legal Compliance

For UK Readers (ASA & CMA): In line with UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidelines, we disclose affiliate links clearly at the top of every post that contains affiliate links, and in our header/footer. “#ad” or “Affiliate Link” is marked on buttons and links.

For US Readers (FTC): In line with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) 16 CFR Part 255, we disclose material connections with all affiliate partners.

For EU Readers: In line with EU Consumer Protection and Digital Services Act, we clearly label advertising and affiliate content.

7. Cookies & Tracking

When you click an affiliate link (e.g., /go/booking-artemide), a cookie is placed by Travelpayouts / Awin / Booking.com to track that you came from us. Cookie duration is typically 30 days (Booking.com) to 30 days (Aviasales) to 31 days (GetYourGuide). If you book within that period, we earn commission.

We also use Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console to understand which guides help you – no personal data sold.

See our Privacy Policy for full cookie info and GDPR rights.

8. Prices, Accuracy & No Guarantee

Hotel, flight and tour prices change hourly. We show live prices via widgets from Travelpayouts API at time of page load. Price you see at checkout may differ. We do our best to keep guides updated (last updated date at top of each post), but we cannot guarantee price, availability or accuracy of third-party booking sites.

Always check booking conditions on Booking.com / airline / tour operator site before booking.

9. Not a Travel Agency – No Booking Liability

We do not sell travel. All bookings are contracts between you and Booking.com, airline, GetYourGuide, Viator, Omio, etc. For changes, cancellations, refunds, complaints – contact the booking provider directly. We can try to help via hello@traveleuropeguide.com but we are not liable for booking issues.

10. Questions?

If you have questions about how we make money or want to check if a link is affiliate, email us: info@traveleuropeguide.com

We are transparent because we want you to trust our guides – we live in Liverpool and travel like you do.
